The principle

How to read this report.

Regular training changes the body right down to the cellular level. These processes leave traces in the form of circulating microRNAs — small RNA molecules that regulate how strongly particular genes are actually expressed. Unlike genetics, these values can change, which makes them the trend component of the analysis.

Nutritional status

Vitamin and micronutrient requirements as well as fluid balance. Assessments: nutritional status, hydration status.

Recovery

Capacity to recover, training load and inflammatory activity. Assessments: injury risk, load level, inflammation.

Performance

Endurance capacity and the condition of the musculature. Assessments: cardiovascular fitness, muscle status.

    Before the consultation

    The full report is available ahead of the appointment. Read it through and mark what stands out: the traffic-light ratings, their distribution across the evaluations, the starting points named. That way it is clear from the outset what to discuss.

  2. 02

    During the consultation

    Eight values in this panel sit on the epigenetic level and can therefore be influenced. The genetic variants alongside them are determined once in a lifetime and remain unchanged — they describe the starting position, not a goal. Only the epigenetic level responds to nutrition, exercise, sleep and strain; it alone is suitable for tracking progress.

  3. 03

    Afterwards

    The interval to a follow-up measurement is set by the supervising institution. Laboratory, sample material and sampling should stay the same — and whatever happens in between belongs in the same documentation as the values.

The key marker

At 2/9, miR-146a-5p is the weakest individual value and feeds into four of the seven assessments: load/stress level, inflammation, injury risk and cardiovascular fitness. A single marker therefore shapes a large part of the overall picture.
